How to get to the Photon Science Institute
The University is just 30 minutes from Manchester International Airport. The airport has its own railway station with frequent services to Manchester’s Piccadilly and Oxford Road train stations. Local buses also run to Oxford Road area of the campus. (See below for more details about local connections.) A taxi from the airport will cost approximately £15.

Liverpool’s John Lennon airport (http://www.liverpooljohnlennonairport.com), approximately 1 hour away from Manchester City Centre, provides frequent “low cost” connections to many European cities.
The University of Manchester is located close to both Piccadilly and Oxford Road train stations. From Piccadilly Station the Alan Turing Building, which is in the Oxford Road area of the campus, is a 15-20 minute walk; a taxi to the building will cost you about £5. From Oxford Road train station, the Oxford Road area of the campus can be reached by a 10-15 minute walk or by taking any of the many buses south along Oxford Road.

The Oxford Road Link bus (number 147) runs on weekdays between 7.15am and 6.45pm, at 10-minute intervals, from Piccadilly Rail Station to the campus. This service will stop at 14 locations, starting at Piccadilly Station on Fairfield Street and ending at Grafton Street. Here is an information leaflet on the Oxford Road Link (as of August 2005).
Oxford Road is within walking distance of Piccadilly Bus Station and the National Express Coach Station on Chorlton Street.
